Gwel'd cleddyf cyfiawnder yn deffro

Gwel'd cleddyf
    cyfiawnder yn deffro,
  Oedd ryfedd, i daro Mab Duw!
Gwneyd T'wysog y nef yn anafus,
  Er mwyn i rai beius
      gael byw!
Dysgleirdeb gogoniant, ac union
  Wir ddarlun o berson y Tad,
Yn ngafael deddf fanwl ofynion,
  I ni dd'od yn rhyddion yn rhad!

Dyoddefodd ein Iesu lidiogrwydd
  Y gyfraith, a gw'radwydd y groes;
Dan bwysau digofaint y Duwdod,
  Gwnaeth gymod am
      bechod pob oes;
Cyfiawnder a'r gyfraith ddysgleirwych
  Sy'n edrych i lawr yn ddi lid,
A'r priodoliaethau yr unwedd,
  Yn gwaeddi "Trugaredd!" i gyd.

Seeing the sword of
    righteousness awakening,
  To strike the Son of God, was wonderful!
Making the Prince of heaven wounded,
  In order for the sinful ones
      to get to live!
The radiance of glory, and the exact
  True image of the person of the Father,
Keeping the law's detailed requirements,
  For us to go free without cost!

Our Jesus suffered the anger of
  The law, and the shame of the cross;
Under the weight of the Godhead's wrath,
  He made reconciliation for
      the sin of every age;
The righteousness and the brilliant law
  Is looking down without anger,
And the attributes in the same way,
  All shouting "Mercy!"
